About the Role
- We are looking for tech-savvy professionals who know Salesforce inside and out. The Business Analyst (BA) is a leader at Platinum River INNOVATIONS and is paramount to client success. On behalf of the client, the BA is the integral in understanding & translating client needs into solution configuration and will be viewed as both an industry and solution professional.
On a day-to-day basis, the BA is responsible for requirements elicitation, solution configuration, as well as training. Requirement elicitation translates client needs articulated during Discovery sessions into a user story map. The BA needs to have strong Business Consulting Capabilities, Salesforce Configuration Experience and the ability to Learn additional technologies and sub-industry domain topics. Furthermore, the BA may mentor and grow other team members’ capabilities in the functional domain.
Responsibilities:
- Work with key business stakeholders to understand strategy, processes, business rules, and systems, articulating these through documentation, diagrams, and requirements.
- Conduct discovery sessions and workshops to elicit, clarify, and prioritize business requirements.
- Create and manage a user story backlog, decomposed into sprints that provide simplicity and clarity for both the client and the project team.
- Write detailed user stories with acceptance criteria to ensure developers and testers have a clear understanding of business needs.
- Develop requirement documentation, business process flow diagrams, and support implementation planning.
- Partner with Project Managers and Solution Architects to ensure alignment between requirements, solution design, and delivery.
- Facilitate sprint planning, grooming, demos, and retrospectives from a business/user perspective.
- Support test planning and execution, ensuring solutions meet documented acceptance criteria.
- Identify and document change management needs and support training development and delivery.
- Provide consultative advice to clients on Salesforce best practices, with a predisposition toward native functionality first, AppExchange solutions second, and customization only if required.
- Track and measure success metrics to ensure releases deliver measurable value to the client.
- Act as a trusted advisor to client Product Owners, presenting design trade-offs and helping them make informed decisions.
- Engage periodically in sales activities when BA expertise is needed for estimation or scoping.

Requirements
Competencies:
Demonstrated command of Agile/Scrum methodology is required.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills with a focus on being clear and concise.
Excellent facilitation and client relationship skills.
Strong business and systems analysis skills, user story writing, and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience with Salesforce functionality, configuration, and business process mapping.
Education and Experience:
2+ years of experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and process re-engineering.
Minimum 2+ years of experience administering or consulting on Salesforce. Financial Services Cloud experience is required.
2+ years working with Financial Services Organizations; Insurance/Wealth preferred.
Experience with requirements elicitation, backlog management, and user story writing is required.
Experience with Salesforce data migration and AppExchange package evaluation/installation is a plus.
Consulting or Service Industry experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree is required.
